After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot named Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the hostile environment, Roz forms a bond with the island’s animals and takes care of an orphaned goose. Lupita Nyong’o joins writer-director Chris Sanders to talk about their time together making The Wild Robot and the remarkable creations. According to author Peter Brown, the inspiration for “The Wild Robot” came from a sketch he made of a robot in a tree. He then asked the question, “What would an intelligent robot do in the wild?” When the fox enters the cabin, a moose growls near the door, but the sound effect is a recording of a bear.
