When architect Laszlo Toth and his wife Erzebet flee post-war Europe in 1947 to rebuild their legacy and witness the birth of modern America, their lives are forever changed by a mysterious and wealthy client. IMDb editor Arno Kazarian offers a quick look at the 12 films he screened at the 2024 New York Film Festival, including Honor and the dangerous, wildly erotic Misericordia. Filming took place over a total of 34 days, from March 16 to May 5, 2023. It was filmed in Budapest, Hungary, and Carrara, Italy. (2024). Rating – 9.1: Overall, a great epic that both pays homage to the time period and changes the way we tell stories, as it shows what can be achieved on such a small budget, thanks to its superb cinematography, deep script, and incredible performance by Adrien.
