Narrative
The brilliant, but emotionally restrained Caro Drake comes to Oxford with the sole purpose of getting a doctorate, but thanks to a stormy friendship with a charming young man, she begins to discover secrets, vulnerabilities and love. Based on real events, the world premiere of this film took place at the International Film Festival ” Heartland” in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event was attended by Carolyn Weber, the author of the book, the biographical novel of which the film is based on, as well as the actor Rose Reed, who played Caro Drake in the film, and other participants of the filming.
And I must admit, the film is quite good
.. New Year’s Eve in my hometown Screenplay by Stanley William Zabka and Donald Upton Performed by Eddie Fisher (Recorded in 1951). I didn’t know anything about this film, I turned around, it had an introduction by the author of the book it was based on – Carolyn Weber, and the producer too.
Rose Reed is wonderful as Carolyn
The introduction says that this is a romantic film, which it is, but in fact it concerns the life of the main character – Caroline, starting from her childhood in America and ending with her years in Oxford, England. , who struggles with studies, a strange novel and, if she is a religious person, after meeting Kent Weber, played with due conviction by Ruairi O’Connor. He is a very religious man, and his views and the views of other people make Caroline seriously think about her life, what she really wants and what she thinks about others.
I give it a 75 out of 10 because I was surprised by Oxford
Oxford looks very beautiful, Ryan Whittaker’s direction is on point, it captures the atmosphere of Oxford. along with a star-studded cast of Simon Callow, Jordan Alexandra, Emma Naomi, the very memorable Lourdes Faberez, and the gorgeous Phyllis Logan, who is quite fickle and initially very tough, but is actually also a driving force. But I don’t think I would like to study or work there.
