The town set was built specifically for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia
Narrative
Unravels the mystery of a town in the middle of the United States that holds captive all who enter. As the residents struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy and find a way out, they must also survive the dangers of the surrounding forest. The site known as Beaver Bank Villa has a long history and many years ago housed residential units, a community center, a fire station, a school, a church, a supermarket, etc.
A rope is lowered to him
(all demolished as recently as 2004) to house workers at a nearby military radar base that operated in the 1950s and 1960s. The paved roads and driveways were all that remained, and on them the artificial town was built. As Boyd climbs a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well.
The Rope Was Not Thrown Down by Martin

It used to be very emotional, but now it’s become drama that feels inappropriate
Seasons 1 and 2 were great, but they drag out the season 3 episodes unnecessarily, which is annoying. The season 3 episode was good, but after that they just created a few moments that didn’t give us an emotional connection to the situation, and I mostly found myself fast-forwarding through several unwanted conversations with the characters. I think after the first episode of season 3, the remaining 8 episodes could actually be condensed down to a maximum of 3 episodes.
Maybe they have plans for another season
But this method of stretching out episodes isn’t ideal as most fans, including myself, find it annoying. I hope they fix this problem next season.
