The first League of Legends (LoL) project to expand its cinematic universe is complete. A story between sisters, rich and poor, loyalty and betrayal, peace and war, and everything in between.
The battle walls were heavy and amazing
There’s a common belief that LoL’s big budget was spent on animation, not on the balance of the game’s champions, and that couldn’t be more true. I wasn’t expecting such a masterful level of animation. With each episode, they found more and more ways to surprise the audience with stunning visual effects and transitions. Despite the fact that the series didn’t adhere to the original story canon at all, it’s still a tense story that created an interesting universe. I won’t lie, the first act wasn’t too exciting, but episode 4 after that completely hooked me.
Some still surprised me completely
My only problem with the story was that I just couldn’t get into it. I wanted more and I hate waiting. The characters were just as cool as they are in the anime. A lot of the character dynamics really caught me off guard and made me realize how much I needed them. I admit that some of the characters were straightforward, but not all of them were predictable.
The instructions for all of the characters were incredible
Overall, while the game was a love-hate relationship, Arcane was definitely an absolute love and a phenomenal step towards creating LOLCU. 8.5/10.
