Narrative
Two Harkonnen sisters fight against forces that threaten the future of humanity and found the legendary sect that will be known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. all about.. Anderson.

The intro to the original dune tells how a Rossak sister evolved into a Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is from one of the Mentats of Dune. All three books intertwine the development of the Sisters, Mentats, Navigators and Suk Doctors. I don’t want to criticize only the first episode of the TV show, but it was just average on all levels.
The story was very easy and the dialogue was not dune worthy
The acting was subpar, with the exception of some well-known actors like Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and possibly Travis Fimmel. The rest of the cast felt like they were fresh out of a film academy or something. I love slow moving dramas that take forever because I know the payoff is worth the wait. But it wasn’t just slow, there was a lot going on, it was just boring, I don’t know how else to describe it.
Like here I heard a lot of music that had no effect
The soundtrack that roamed the movies was a little off here and there, with familiar sounds here and there, but the timing just wasn’t right. I remembered how long in the movies I would go to people talking and then boom, Hans Zimmer was doing magic and I was excited. But I know he wasn’t making any sound here, and I don’t even need to check that. I’m not sure if Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, I hope not.
Food for thought
My question is, did he enjoy doing it? After two epic movies, will such an ordinary TV show affect the long-awaited third movie? I’m asking because The Penguin was so good that it made me appreciate Batman even more than I did after watching it and I can’t wait for the second movie. So how will Dune: Prophecy affect the third movie, if there is one.
