Narrative
The story of three young girls trying to stay together when they get trapped in a sea cave filled with crashing waves, hundreds of sea lions, and terrifying elephant seals. Screened at the 9th San Diego Film Awards (2023). I thought it was a great movie, but it’s important to know that it’s essentially written by children for children. If you’re an adult who loves children, you’ll love it too. It reminded me of when my daughter was that age. The people who said this movie was terrible probably have very little imagination and want to see the same old garbage that Hollywood puts out year after year. They’re probably also helicopter parents who head to the hospital at the first sign of a sniffle or a skinned knee. It’s ridiculous to suggest that these kids are in real danger because something you saw in the movie looked dangerous. The intention was to make her look dangerous… that’s the movie.
