Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with different powers than they’ve faced before. Outmatched by their abilities, Team Sonic must find an unlikely alliance. The creators of the previous films have mentioned playing both Sonikku adobenchâ 2 (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) solo for inspiration. The film was also inspired by narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993).
