got into the character during the production of “The Penguin”
Narrative
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, plays a game to seize the reins of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin in The Batman (2022), but failed. However, for his own series, the character is portrayed as an occasional tobacco user who prefers cigars. The DC Studios logo is set in a rainy Gotham alley.
Farrell STEALS this series
An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Featured in Graham Norton and others: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). He’s impressive.
There’s nothing cartoonish about it
There’s nothing in the character that even hints at Farrell. The NY dialect, the swaying and limping, the attitude: you’d swear it was a different person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character. The performance is bold and graphic.
It’s a shame
Well written and exciting. This is a great counterpart to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blew Marvel’s line out of the water. I hope it could be a season 2 but I know this is limited.
